The CGE offers various workshops for international students. Please click on each workshop below to learn more.

OPT Workshop (F-1 Students Only)

Offered in-person once a month, or online via Blackboard, all F-1 international students nearing graduation are required to attend an Optional Practical Training (OPT) workshop if you may be interested in working in the U.S. after graduation to gain experience in your field of study.

It is advised you attend a workshop BEFORE graduation, preferably the semester prior to your final term. Registration is required for the in-person workshop. To register, visit istart.fsu.edu.

NOTE: The average processing time for OPT authorization is 2-3 months. Therefore, please start your preparations for OPT early.


Employment Workshop

Offered once a year in spring, this workshop is open to international students, postdoctoral researchers and other FSU international employees. Features an immigration attorney and presenters from the FSU Career Center. Hear more about transitioning from student to work visa status and options for obtaining permanent residence. Learn how to market your skills and identify potential job or internship opportunities. Registration is required. To register, visit istart.fsu.edu.


Tax Workshop

Offered once a year in spring, this workshop is open to international students and scholars. You will learn tips on how to file taxes as a resident or non-resident (for tax purposes).
