Intercultural Program series: Greece

Weekly Newsletter

Wed, Jan 27 | 7 pm | The Globe Auditorium - Uncover the treasured traditions of this iconic civilization and experience Greek music, dance, food, and more at the spring semester's first Intercultural Program Series event.

The Intercultural Program Series offers a way to experience global cultures without having to leave campus, and it's designed to engage individuals through hands-on participation. Free and open to the public.

International Coffee Hour

Weekly Newsletter

Every Friday | 5-6:30 pm | The Globe Lounge & Dining Room - U.S. students, scholars, and faculty gather for coffee and snacks every Friday. It's a great place to meet new people from various parts of the world, see old friends, and make plans for the weekend.

Friday, January 22 features Morocco, and we'll be serving Coconut Ghoriba and Saffron Green Tea. Free and open to the public.

English Conversation Club - Every Monday-Friday | 4-5 pm | The Globe Lounge
International students, scholars and their families at all levels of speaking English as a second/other language are invited to meet in a relaxed atmosphere to practice conversational English. Groups are led by experienced English tutors.

 

Global Cafe: Cambodia - Fri, Jan 22 | 11:30 am-2 pm | The Globe Dining Room
This week is co-hosted with the Global Peace Exchange student organization and features Bai Soch Chrouk (pork marinated in coconut milk, served with jasmine rice) or the vegetarian option, Khmer fried rice. $7 cash or check only.

 

Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshop (for F-1 international students) - Fri, Jan 29 | 2-4 pm | The Globe Room 2300
All F-1 international students nearing graduation are required to attend an Optional Practical Training (OPT) workshop (in person or online) if you may be interested in working in the U.S. after graduation to gain experience in your field of study. NOTE: The average processing time for OPT authorization is 2-3 months. Therefore, please start your preparations for OPT early. It is advised you attend a workshop BEFORE graduation, preferably the semester prior to your final term. Registration is required. To register, visit https://cfprd.oti.fsu.edu/dsa/IC/.

International Bazaar - Sat, Feb 13 | 2-5 pm | FSU Union Ballrooms
The annual International Bazaar showcases music, dance, and food from around the world. The event gives campus and community cultural groups the opportunity to share their history and heritage while giving individuals the opportunity to learn about various cultures and traditions.
