The final Engage Your World series of the semester features Dr. Ibrahim Saleh, Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Town; Chair of Journalism Research and Education Section, International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).

CGE is co-sponsorring the event with the John H. Phipps Chair in the School of Communication, and the FSU Institute of Intercultural Communication and Research. Free and open to the public. Qualifies for the Global Citizenship Certificate

Intercultural Programs Series: Islands of Indonesia

Islands of Indonesia

Thu, Apr 14 | 7 pm | The Globe Auditorium
Come explore the diversity of Indonesian culture through music, dance, food, and more! Featuring members of the FSU Gamelan Ensemble.

The Intercultural Program Series offers a way to experience global cultures without having to leave campus, and it's designed to engage individuals through hands-on participation. Free and open to the public. Qualifies for the Global Citizenship Certificate

English Conversation Club - Every Monday-Friday | 4-5 pm | The Globe Lounge
International students, scholars, and their families at all levels of speaking English as a second/other language are invited to meet in a relaxed atmosphere to practice conversational English. Groups are led by experienced English tutors.

 

A Special Coffee Hour Event: Block Party at the Commons Courtyard hosted by CGE and Tolerance & Dialogue Group - Fri, Apr 8 | 5-7 pm | Commons Courtyard (between ASLC and the Globe)
Join us as we explore how citizens of the world can live in peace and harmony. This month's Block Party is in conjunction with the CGE's weekly International Coffee Hour where we will be serving Noah's Pudding (asure). Noah's pudding is a symbol of unity and stands for the harmony of differences. Many Division of Student Affairs departments will be tabling and sharing information about their programs. Free and open to the public. Qualifies for the Global Citizenship Certificate

 

Optional Practical Training (OPT) Workshop (for F-1 international students) - Mon, Apr 11 | 2-4 pm | The Globe Room 2300
New date added! All F-1 international students nearing graduation are required to attend an OPT workshop (in person or online) if they are interested in working in the U.S. after graduation to gain experience in their field of study. Registration is required.

 

CGE International Student Graduation Reception - Fri, Apr 15 | 3:30-5 pm | The Globe Auditorium
All international students who completed their programs in Fall 2015 or will finish in Spring 2016 are invited to attend the CGE Graduation Reception. Guests (faculty, staff, family, and friends) are welcome. RSVP to cge@admin.fsu.edu by April 8, 2016 confirming how many guests you plan to bring.
