FSU’s Global Exchanges provide students with a unique and affordable opportunity to study at one of 40+ international partner universities in 20 countries all while paying FSU tuition, earning FSU credits, and using financial aid.

“I was able to be completely immersed in Japanese culture and language,” said Sandra Thomas, business major who studied at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies for the 2016-17 academic year. “I even got to wear traditional Japanese summer garments to Gion Matsuri, the most famous festival in Japan.”

During the 2016-17 academic year, 43 FSU students studied in 11 different countries as exchange students.

Students must apply by October 1 in order to participate in a Global Exchange during spring 2018 or by March 1 for summer 2018, fall 2018, or academic year 2018-19. Interested students can attend information sessions on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 2 p.m. in The Globe (GME Building) room 2600.

A Global Exchange fulfills the sustained experience requirement for the Global Citizenship Certificate and fulfills the international engagement area requirement of the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society. 

Returning students can also find intercultural service and leadership opportunities with the Global Noles, a mentoring program for incoming exchange students; the Going Global Showcase held during International Education Week annually; and the Florida International Leadership Conference.
